Tony has worked in the agricultural industry for 20+ years holding various leadership and operational positions covering dairy, sheep, beef, cropping, finishing, forestry and organic farming activities.

From 2024-2026, Tony was General Manager for Hopkins Farming Group in the Manawatu. Responsible for 10 farms, circa 6500 cows producing 3 mil kgMS/annum, he led a team in excess of 45 permanent staff.  He also lead the divestment process of the business, bringing all 10 farms to the market, achieving unconditional sales and purchase, one of the largest dairy portfolio sold in the last decade.

Prior, Tony was Senior Business Manager - Lower North Island for Pamu.  He led the transition of 10 dairy and support farms to become certified organic to USDA and COR under Fonterra's Organic Milk supply program.  Additionally, having oversight of Pamu’s sheep, beef and cropping properties in the Manawatu along with a machinery syndicate and calf rearing operation.  The development of practical skills day program for farm staff and regular agricultural career days highlight Tony’s passion for people and the industry.

Tony led the national breeding strategy for Pamu's 40,000+ dairy cows, and was involved in steering groups for Green House Gas Reduction, Pamu Apprenticeship Program, Zero Bobby Calf and Future Beef as examples.

Tony is passionate about agriculture and education.  Having formerly been a student, then business manager for Taratahi, he had oversight of their dairy portfolios in Northland, Taranaki, Tararua and Wairarapa.

Tony has an Executive MBA, Diploma in Agriculture with Distinction, and has completed Kellogg Rural Leadership and Rabobank Executive Development Programs.
